Somali-born British retired long-distance runner Mo Farah has congratulated Somali athlete Abdullahi Jama Mohamed for his performance at the recently concluded African Games in Accra, Ghana.
Abdullahi Jama Mohamed made history on Friday night by securing a silver medal in the men's 5000m final. This achievement marked Somalia's first medal on the global stage in over 35 years.

Mohamed finished with an impressive time of 13:38.64, coming in just behind Ethiopia's Gebrhiwet Berhe, who won gold with a time of 13:38.12. Kenya's Cornelius Kemboi claimed the bronze with a time of 13:40.61.
Mo Farah believes Abdulahi Jama has a bright future ahead and has called upon Somalis to support him especially with the Oympics on the horizon.

Abdulahi, who represented Somalia as the sole participant in the event held in Ghana, had to cover his own travel expenses to the championships as the Somalia Athletics Federation couldn't fund his ticket.
